TKA Championship

Due to the low turnout commitment (only about 15 boats) and we were working on a big sponsor that was supposed to help make the payouts more substantal, and backed out in the 11th hour, we all talked and made the decision to cancel the Championship.  We feel that we have put on some pretty Awesome Tournaments this year and we don't want to end the Season with a below average performance. 
 
What We ARE GOING TO DO is to use some of the TKA money that we were going to use for the Championship and have a very nice Awards Banquet. Tony has already gone by Lewis Jewelers and picked up the TAG Watch and they told him to use it for the Awards Banquet.
 
While we truly regret that we won't be having the Championship this year, we greatly appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you at the Awards Banquet.

The Texas King Mackerel Association is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a Texas State
Championship event at the conclusion of the 2007 tournament season.  The TKA “King of Kings
Championship” season finale event will be held in Galveston on September 13-16.  The top 20 teams from
the Open Division and the top 15 teams in the Class of 23 Division will be invited to participate in this
Championship Tournament.  Eligibility will be determined by the combined weight of the heaviest three fish
weighed during five qualifying events in Texas .  Teams must also be registered members of the TKA
during the events in which they catch qualifying fish.  The five tournaments in which qualifying fish can be
caught are:
